2. Why did you enrol in this online course, and what do you hope to learn?

E-Learning is a different way of taking PD and comics are lots of fun! I'm interested to hear why all of you have enrolled and what you hope to learn!

3. If you could be a comic book character, who would it be, and why?

If I could be any comic book character I would like to be Wonder Woman because I would love to be able to fly anywhere in an invisible jet, the truth lasso would be helpful when my students tell me all their stories, and I would love the magic bracelets to fend off the snow that keeps filling up our driveway!

1. Please share your name, school and teaching assignment.

My name is Christopher Lawley and I teach at Regent Park/Duke of York. This year I am teaching a Grade 5/6 class.

2. Why did you enroll in this online course, and what do you hope to learn?

I enjoy reading comics and graphic novels (I am currently reading "V for Vendetta"); I have tried teaching comics as graphic texts and enjoyed it; and I find that a large number of my students are really engaged by this medium (e.g. I have a set of "Bone" and the books are in constant use). I want to get better at using what is obviously a very powerful tool for student engagement and learning. I would also like to make connections with others who have similar interests/goals.

3. If you could be a comic book character, who would it be, and why?

This is a hard one, but I think I have to go with Hobbes. I like how he is playful but at the same time is comfortable asking big questions that encourage Calvin to think about things in new ways.

My name is Jeffrey Keil and I am teaching at Chine Drive Public School. I am currently working as an LTO in a Grade 4/5 class.

2. Why did you enrol in this online course, and what do you hope to learn?
I enrolled in this course because I started a Boys Book Club and I want to use comic life to encourage the boys to find enjoyment in reading. I also want to use comic life as a chance for the students in my class to write book reports or hand in assignments in an enjoyable fashion.

3. If you could be a comic book character, who would it be, and why?
If I could be a comic book character I would choose Superman simply because he is the toughest in all comic book land. I think it would be nice to be able to fly wherever I want and not have to pay the huge costs of air travel.

2. Why did you enrol in this online course, and what do you hope to learn?
I have enrolled in this course to, hopefully, learn how to use this fun tool to assess my students fairly.

3. If you could be a comic book character, who would it be, and why?
I'm not sure yet. Maybe I'll have a better idea of that at the end of this course!
