Think and Reflect

How can you use the information from Lesson 1 in your classroom program to help your students improve their reading comprehension skills?

I can use comic books to help improve their reading comprehension because the stories are set up similar to that of a regular novel. I discovered that when writing a comic book the authors follow the same recipe that an author of a novel would use only without the visualization that a comic book provides. I would set up a comparison study between the comic book and a novel and have the students discuss the similarities and differences between the introduction, body, and conclusion of the stories. The students would read and comprehend more effectively because comics seem to be something that they can relate to. Hopefully the more they read, the better their comprehension.
